How to post pic in comment using Haloscan's Thumbsnap

1) simply click on the icon with the chain link over it that appears above the "comment:" section
2) then upload your pic from wherestever (it should be under 2 megs)
3) This is important: Then you have to copy the image link and paste it in your comment. That's it!

I must be doing something wrong, because I'm not getting it... ...at least, I'm not getting what I'm lookin' for...

First off, my goal is to add a tiny thumbnail to my comments, similar to the one that comes up in these comments (assuming one has them turned on), not post a link to the thumbsnap page where I uploaded the link. (I can post that link just fine, so if that's what your instructions are for, you did well.

But assuming you were trying to explain the same thing I'm trying to do...

1) I click on comment. The haloscan box opens in a new window.
2) I click on the computer/chain link just above the comment text box. A new haloscan Tumbsnap comment window opens.
3) I browse/upload picture (or pick already uploaded picture.)
4) I choose either the pic link or the clickable thumbnail link, and paste it into the comment text box on the original comment window, along with my actual comment, and hit publish.

The pic link in the resulting comment takes one back to the Thumbsnap comment window.

The clickable thumbnail link just puts a big empty space at the top of my comment.

Neither puts a little thumbnail on the right of my comment.

Am I going wrong, & if so, where?

(I'm beginning to wonder whether the thumbnail that some folks have in haloscan comment boxes is a perk of being ahloscan comment users on their own blogs... Like maybe, you have to be a subscriber to get that benefit... I'm going to explore that answer, next... 8>)

Thanks for being generally helpful, whether or not you ever get back to me on this... Just having the explanatory blurbs for folks to find is neat enough...

Ok... I solved my own problem...

Better life through closer reading...

The little thumbnail I was lookin' for is not done with Thumbsnap. It's a Gravatar; a Globally Recognized Avatar.

It took about 24 hours to kick in, but now my globally recognised avitar (AKA: little thumbnail) will come up automagically when I post to any site that supports gravitars. So there's the answer, in case anyone shows up here as clueless as I was... 8>)
